About CafeYak.com
Once Anna Harris became a Mom, she decided to pause her 12-year marketing career and focus on her baby. However, she soon realized there was a need for a website that could offer practical advice for Moms - not only about parenting, but about style, cooking, stocks and more - one place for people to read, shop and talk. Thus, in October of 2007 CafeYak.com was born.
CafeYak.com was founded to share useful information with you, our readers. This information is in the articles, our podcast, newsletter and the shopping banners and deals. This information is in the community space - Yak Forum. Information is power. We want to empower you and our site is not the only way to do this. That's where our promise to you comes in. We promise to dedicate 50% of all our proceeds to a Susan G. Komen for the Cure as our 2008 charity organization. Breast cancer awareness and search for the cure is one of the biggest challenges we face today. And Susan G. Komen for the Cure has been at the forefront of this fight. We at CafeYak hope our 2008 contribution will help bring us closer to finding the cure.
While majority of work - writing, design, marketing - is done by Anna Harris, many useful web resources have been utilized in creating and maintaining the site. We'd like to give credit to Free CSS Templates for the draft CSS concepts, which have been modified since. Also special thanks to Jennifer Kyrnin for her very practical advice in the About.com Web Design Column
