End of Summer 2010 Perfumes: Bouncy, fruity and fresh
This has been the hottest summer I can remember. As nice as the pool sounds, we can't jump into the cooling waters on a daily basis. So when you are out and about, a quick spritz of a refreshing perfume is just what you need to survive the last few weeks of this scorching season. As summer is nearing the end, I am not just looking for light and fresh scents but also the kind that will transition you into the fall. Think of fruity notes, coastal air and long bike rides - and you've got your picks for end of summer 2010 perfumes.
[Givenchy] Ange ou Demon
This is a mysteriously dazzling scent with an allure of intrigue. With the tall narrow bottle covered with rays of silver, it is reminiscent of a magic stone, something powerful, beautiful yet strangely intimidating. Givenchy is using Uma Thurman in print and TV ads and she is certainly portraing an image of a seductress - confident and sexy. This scent is not overpowering but strong enough to be more appropriate for a night out. I love the notes of jasmine and vanilla; it's a floral scent without being overly sweet.
You will feel: feminine, rebellious, confident enough to trust your instincts, knowing what you want
[L'Occitane] Citrus Verbena Summer
If you've ever imagined yourself biking through the woodsy trails of Provence or standing on the rocks overlooking the Mediterranean, you will immediately get what this lustrous scent is like - light, crisp and radiant - the essence of summer. I love the whole series of L'Occitane summer fragrances but I think this one stands out thanks to its energy borrowed from lemon and grapefruit extracts. Of course, verbena is the key note here. One of the best things about this scent, besides bringing memories and energizing you for the day, is that it is cooling in a way, which is perfect for these end of summer hot days.
You will feel: fresh, beautiful, energized
[Lancome] Tresor in Love
This fruity-floral scent capturing the moment of falling in love was just released in Spring 2010, but it's just perfect for summer. Just one look at the gorgeous romantic bottle tied with a beautiful black rosette
tells you this is a step aside from the heavy original Tresor. The sweetness of peach and crisp citrusy nectarine are such delicate scents; very feminine.
The key notes - turkish rose and jasmine - are very floral and summery; yet musk adds a note of seduction. This fragrance is light and airy, perfect for a summer day, but it stays strong and dry for the day.
You will feel: modern, feminine, young, ready to face the day with a smile
